501st. Legion, Alpine Garrison

Seriously, I'm enjoying being a newspaper photographer (ok, ok, just an intern) more each day. Not even in my wildest dreams I'd have imagined that one day I'd get to shoot Darth Vader & co. I enjoyed this assignment, using the lighting kit on location for the first time. I can't say that the members of the 501st. had as much fun as I did because it was 100 degrees out there and those costumes were not meant for this kind of weather. But the kids that were in the park at that time DID have fun...

The picture on the playground is fun.

Watch your highlights and background in the first two, though.

Jero, where are you these days?? To answer your question, I am a staff photographer at the Northwest Herald outside of Chicago. I officially left the world of interns and entered professional staff back in March (thank god, btw!).

Do you ever come to Chicago? I live in the city and reverse commute to the suburbs. If you have never seen it, you should come on up.

Are you down with JSchool or not? I can never remember anyone's sequence...

Jero- looks like you got big pictures, and they look great. Actually, what Brandon was referring to wasn't my NPPA clip win but something in July 2007's News Photographer agazine. If you get it, check out the inside cover.

Jero,

The swingset shot is nice. Darth Vader just leaning back just a little works well. I think the lighting works well to accentuate the weirdness.
