Finally, I've put an audio slideshow about my VW buddies on the web. It's just a first attempt. If it works, it works. If it doesn't, I'll change it. Check it out at: http://bengal.missouri.edu/~jngd8/vw/
I love the pic you have posted on this blog! Interesting topic... awesome beginning shots... but, I'm still left wondering why Volkswagons? Why do these guys love them so much? You touched on how the cars aren't made anymore... so it's an interest in keeping the VW culture alive... but why is that important? The one guy said that a VW was his first car... but what memories were tied with that car... what about that car led him to love VWs? The bites you have are a bit broad, get specifics, get details... the bites about The Wizard were better because they were more focused, more personal. The fact that his wife can tell which side of the engine a part belongs to just by its number was the best bite... because it was specific and detailed. The pics on just the signs and sayings were great... descriptive and telling. Ending shot seemed perfect. Thanks for sharing such a unique sub-culture!
Besides being a staff photojournalist at The Decatur Daily in the Tennessee Valley (North Alabama), I also make documentaries, movies, commercials and other video-related stuff. I do freelance work in both still photography and video. You can contact me for your photo/video needs at: jerophotovideo@gmail.com.
